Wash-A-Way soluble thread
By YLI

YLI Wash-A-Way water soluble thread is used in a wide range of sewing techniques (such as trapunto, appliqué and dressmaking) where you need to anchor fabrics together temporarily. It is also used for basting quilts where you would rather wash the basting threads away than have to remove them all by hand. Soak the project in water and wash out the water soluble thread leaving only the regular thread and materials behind.
Water soluble thread can be used as either the top or the bobbin thread. We recommend that, if you use it in the bobbin, you mark your bobbin in some way so you know it is wound with water soluble thread and don’t mistake it for your normal white bobbin thread.
Water soluble thread can weaken if exposed to the moisture in the air, so keep it in the small zip-sealed bag it comes in until you are ready to use it. It is also a delicate thread so we suggest, when machining, you reduce your tension setting to 1 and use a Schmetz Microtex 80 needle.
Available on 100 yd spools.
