YLI Soft Touch cotton thread

A high quality, very fine cotton thread for piecing, as a bobbin fill, and for specialist uses.

YLI Soft Touch is a low-lint, 60-weight, 2-ply mercerised long-staple Egyptian cotton thread. It is strong yet has a superb snap point. YLI introduced Soft Touch originally as a wonderful bobbin thread that balances well against upper threads such as YLI Machine Quilting, Aurifil Mako 40 and Superior King Tut. It has quickly gained popularity as a great piecing thread because, being so fine, it adds very little bulk to the seams. It is also wonderful for both hand and machine appliqué, heirloom quilting, lace making and fine embroidery.

For best results when machine piecing, we recommend using a Schmetz Microtex 70 needle. For hand appliqué, we recommend a John James Sharp needle, size 11.
