YLI Fusible thread is a nylon thread that melts when ironed and fuses the sewn fabrics together. Suitable for hemming, appliqué and for making your own fusible bias binding. Also for basting fabrics together before stitching them permanently. Fusing with thread avoids the extra weight and stiffness that results when you use a conventional fusible web.

YLI Fusible thread can be used as either the top or the bobbin thread. We recommend that, if you use it in the bobbin, you mark your bobbin in some way so you know it is wound with fusible thread and don’t mistake it for your normal clear or white bobbin thread. We recommend using a Schmetz Topstitch 100 needle if you are running the Fusible thread through the top. If you are using this thread in your bobbin, then use a needle that matches your top thread.
