Delivery charges: Please note that any spool of thread, because of its dimensions, has to be posted classed as a 'small parcel'. In May 2012, the Post Office abolished the lower weight categories for small parcels. This means that any package containing even just a single spool of thread has to attract a postage charge of £3.90 (including VAT). If you are purchasing a spool of thread, it is worth considering combining your order with other things you might need as you can fit quite a lot of products in under the 1kg weight limit to share the cost of postage. For your guidance, most ordinary spools of thread weigh about 30g or 40g. A packet of needles weighs approximately 15g. A half metre of fabric weighs approximately 100g.
