Tailor's Dummies and Dressmaking Forms

The TV series Great British Sewing Bee has focussed attention on great fit. As any home sewer will know, it's terrifically hard to fit a garment to one's own body without a dressmaker's dummy. The dummy is also very useful when sewing for another person who is not present when needed for fittings. The dummy is essential for draped, free-form designs sewn without patterns, but also incredibly useful for adjusting garments from dressmaking patterns to achieve a perfect fit.

If you do not have the same shape as a dummy, when deciding which dummy would be best remember that a dummy can always be padded out (e.g. by wrapping wadding round the relevant part) to fit a fuller shape but cannot be slimmed down to fit a slimmer shape.  Therefore, select the dummy that will adjust down to fit, and then add your own padding where needed. 

Delivery on tailor's dummies is free of charge. Delivery will be by courier, so if you have a preferred delivery day, please advise and we will aim to deliver that day. Please allow one to two weeks for delivery.
