Note: Any thread (almost) can be used in an overlocker. For decorative use such as rolled hems, lettuce hems, etc., use a high quality cotton thread (such as Aurifil 40 weight) or Rayon thread (Madeira 40) in the upper looper, with overlocker threads in lower looper and needle.

Needles: use a Universal 80 for woven fabrics and a Jersey 80 (or standard ballpoint) for knits and jerseys.
