YLI Specialist and Utility Threads

YLI manufactures a variety of utility and specialist threads such as Wonder Invisible thread, Wash-A-Way thread and Fusible thread.

YLI Wonder Invisible is an ultra-fine monofilament nylon thread. It is perfect for machine appliqué, invisible hems, machine trapunto, machine quilting and many other techniques. It has high heat resistance and will not melt with normal iron heat.

YLI Wonder Invisible is available in 2 colours on 1360m (1500 yd) spools. Use the 'Clear' monofilament on light and medium colour fabrics. Use the 'Smoke' monofilament for dark fabrics as it reflects less light than the Clear.

YLI Wash-A-Way water soluble thread is used in a wide range of sewing techniques (such as trapunto, appliqué and dressmaking) where you need to anchor fabrics together temporarily. It is also used for basting quilts where you would rather wash the basting threads away than have to remove them all by hand.

YLI Fusible thread is a nylon thread that melts when ironed and fuses the sewn fabrics together. Suitable for hemming, appliqué and for making your own fusible bias binding. Also for basting fabrics together before stitching them permanently.
