Clover Appliqué Pins
20mm x 0.6mm
Steel pins with white plastic heads
These appliqué pins come in really handy for securing appliqué patches to a background fabric and also for securing the folded seam allowances of appliqué patches over template papers prior to hand basting.
The pack contains 150 fine, sharp pins in a small plastic lidded box. The tiny appliqué pins are only 3/4" (20mm) in length. Because the pins are very small, multiple pins can be secured into small patches without the pins crossing each other. And because the ends of the pins won't protrude far out of the work, there's less chance of your sewing thread looping around the pins as you stitch.
Meg's verdict: these pins are quite useful for securing small fiddly pieces like leaves and petal centres onto an appliqué project. Although the use of these pins doesn't completely eradicate the problem of the sewing thread constantly looping around the securing pins, I found that they really helped to reduce the problem, so I had to stop less often to untangle the thread compared to when I was using ordinary length straight pins.
