Schmetz needles are amongst the finest engineered sewing machine needles in the world.
Schmetz Twin Needles are designed for sewing with two top threads, side by side. They are used on any swing needle machine that has a needle plate which accommodates a zigzag stitch. A twin needle cannot be used with a straight stitch needle plate. The groove on an 80 size needle is suitable for most 50 weight threads, or any thread of a reasonably medium weight. The gap between the two fixed needles is indicated after the needle size, i.e., 80/2.5 means that the needle is a size 80 needle with a 2.5mm gap.
This pack contains one (1) fixed twin needle. For best results, use a sharp new needle for your project.
These needles fit almost all makes of domestic sewing machines - Brother, Pfaff, Bernina, Janome, Juki, Husqvarna, Toyota, Singer, etc... (There are one or two pre-WWII models that they don't fit - if you have a pre WWII domestic sewing machine, consult your sewing machine manual to see if system H needles fit.) But please ensure that the hole in the needle plate is wide enough for the decorative stitch chosen and for the width of this needle fixture.
