John James Quilt Needles are classed as 'Betweens'. These needles are ideal for hand quilting; they have sharp points and slim shafts. Betweens are shorter than 'sharps' so to help enable a rocking motion as the middle finger pushes the needle through the layers of the quilt. This enables more quilt stitches (running stitches) to be loaded onto the needle in a single push.
See drop down box below for size. The smallest of the needles, size 12, are very fine and suitable for lightweight threads only. The largest size we stock is the size 8. For your guidance, the most common sizes ordered by our customers are 9's and 10's. Remember -- the larger the number, the smaller the needle both in length and diameter.
