Bondaweb by Vilene, also known as Wunder Under
This is the well known webbed fabric adhesive made by the Vilene Company. They give it several name son the box. Here in the UK it is commonly known as 'Bondaweb'. In other countries it is sometimes referred to as 'vliesofix' or 'wunder under'. Same thing! All threenames are on the box. Here at New Threads Quilt Shop we call it Bondaweb.
Bondaweb is a double sided, light weight, paper-backed, webbed fabric adhesive which is idea for raw edge applique. To prepare shapes:
1- Iron Bondaweb to the wrong side of the applique fabric. Iron with the paperside uppermost so that the iron doesn't touch the web fusible.
2- Draw (in mirror image) the required shape onto the paper backing of the bondaweb.
3- Cut the shape out, using a pair of sharp pointed scissors.
4- Peel the paper backing off the prepared shape.
5- Position the applique shape onto the background fabric, then press lightly into place. Most people then stitch decoratively around the edge, using a hand or machine blanket stitch or other decorative stitch.
Can be laundered or dry cleaned.
This listing is FOR THE WHOLE BOX. The product will bedelivered by courier. The Bondaweb is 44cm wide. An order of one quantity will give you a roll that measures 44cm x 30m. This works out to £2.75 per mere, a savings of 25% compared to buying Bondaweb loose by the metre.
