This convenient storage box contains twelve spools of Italian Aurifil 50 weight thread, one of the finest, most lint free cotton threads made in the world. The box has one spool each of twelve different neutral colours. A very useful thread collection, indeed. Colours include grey, beige, cream, tan, all in various shades, plus white and black.
Aurifil Mako 50 thread is 100% cotton of the highest quality. Very thin, yet strong, it is made from mercerised Egyptian cotton and has a lovely sheen to it. It is perfect for use in the bobbin when quilting and will balance most top threads for good tension. Mako 50 is also used for fine heirloom quilting (when used as a top thread in the machine) and for applique and patchwork piecing. It is also a beautiful thread for dressmaking, lacemaking and other textile crafts.
Each spool has 30g of cotton, which is about 1300 metres of thread. These spools normally sell for £7.60 each in the UK. This box represents extremely good value at £74.20 for 12 spools, bringing the price of each spool down to £6.20.
