Aurifil Lana is a 12 weight, 2 ply thread that can be used to make wonderful artwork by hand or machine. It is made from 50% wool and 50% acrylic to give it the strength needed for use in a machine.
It can be used for cross stitch and hand embroidery, for hand or machine appliqué, and for machine or longarm quilting.

Aurifil Lana is ideal for folk art appliqué as it yields a softer, more rustic finish. It is also perfect for working on felt as it is far more sympathetic to the structure of felt than a flatter cotton twisted thread.

Aurifil Lana:

• Is machine washable on a gentle wool cycle (do not use chlorine)
• Is best dried flat away from sources of heat and direct light (do not tumble dry).
• Can be ironed on one dot heat using a wet cloth.
• Can be dry cleaned (with perchloroethylene).

For machine quilting or stitching we recommend using a Schmetz Topstitch 100/16 needle.
