Aurifil Mako 12 Cotton Thread - Colour 4660
Colour Description: Variegated pink
50 metre spool
Aurifil Cotton Mako 12 thread is an extra long staple cotton thread, now available here in the UK. Classed as a 12/2 (12 weight, 2 ply) thread, Aurifil 12 is made from the finest Egyptian long staple cotton and is mercerised for a wonderful sheen. Aurifil 12 is the thickest Egyptian cotton thread from the Aurifil stables.
Aurifil 12 is ideal for hand stitching, embroidery, redwork, sashiko and other sewing crafts where a thick thread with very little lint and good lustre is required. Like all Aurifil cottons, Aurifil 12 is a very smooth thread with very little lint and virtually no slub. it is an excellent hand embroidery thread, particularly nice for hand quilting, as when working 'big stitch' or sashiko through layers of fabric. We do not recommend Aurifil 12 for machine sewing. For hand quilting we recommend a John James Embroidery size 8 needle, a darning needle or a sashiko needle.
12 weight Aurifil thread is supplied on a red spool. There is 50m of thread on the spool.
